The trip in Peru is awesome! Gary, our 10-Day Peru tour director is extra special. It was a big group, 28 of us. The logistics were impeccable. He did it with care and compassion. He's always there for us whenever and whatever. Everyone was chatting, laughing, eating together and exchanging contact info. He set the Peru Familia vibes for the rest of the tour. Luis and German in our 5-Day Amazon Experience were exceptional. They had us excited from start to end. There wasn't a dull moment. The daily tour activities and optional tours (we booked all the optional tours) on various terrain, elevation, temperature and weather were tough but we would not it exchange for anything less. That's what made it memorable. The support system made it easier, and like all the tour guides and director, we're mindful of everyone's physical condition. We will miss everyone, from all the drivers, local guides, and tour director and tourmates.

He brought the history and sights to life with good stories and deep local knowledge. He was kind, and kept everyone safe. He made sure we were comfortable. Every detail was smooth, and well organized. We learned a lot and had a wonderful time. We give our highest recommendation to Americo!

What stands out the most? Our tour guide, Victor! He truly made this trip. He is a gifted tour manager and has set the bar for all tour managers on guided trips in the future. He is passionate, extremely knowledgeable, kind and able to direct a variety of personalities seamlessly. Also, Rene, his Gate 1 assistant, did an outstanding job, as well. Rene is also extremely knowledgeable, passionate, and helpful in every situation. We feel so very fortunate that Victor was our tour manager and Rene was his assistant. Their passion for their Peruvian culture was inspiring. Machu Picchu is a true test of organization and highlights the remarkable ability Victor possesses to lead under stress when things happen outside his control. Our return train was delayed due to a forest fire and rocks falling on the train tracks. Victor was on the phone constantly trying to get the best outcome for his group. We were able to board a train and at least wait comfortably for 4 hours while the track was cleared and declared safe to pass. During this time, Victor kept everyone up to date as it became known to him. Victor even arranged for us to have pizza once we got to our bus to transport us back to Sacred Valley. It was way above any expectation that our group had for him to literally sprint 1/2-mile up hill to pick up pizza for everyone and jump back on the bus. This is just one small example of Victor and Rene going above and beyond. This Peru itinerary has many moving parts and Victor and Rene delivered. They are both valuable Gate 1 assets.

I just wanted to take the time to mention our tour guide Gary. He was excellent. He was very caring and always made sure that we were safe at all times. He made our group always feel like a family. He was also very knowledgeable about all the sites we went to see. He was truly an amazing person and human being.

We were both very impressed with our TM Henry. He is an incredible ambassador of all that is Peru. We felt not only culturally enlightened, but Henry delighted in sharing the foods and tastes of Peru. Henry went out of his way to share foods he enjoyed as a child, especially the ice cream treat and homemade sweet tamales. We felt completely immersed on this trip and can't wait to return for more of Peru.

Great trip with son and granddaughter. Marcos is a 5 star Gate 1/Peru Ambassador! Great organization, knows the places and history, friendly-5 star guy. Cheers also to Ruben who was his backup and coached my granddaughters Spanish vocabulary.

Our tour in Peru was super amazing and partly because of our exceptional tour guide, Marcos and his assistant Reuben. Marcos was so kind, friendly, competent, caring, warm, always clear with his instructions so none of us got confused with our itinerary. He has a great sense of humor that made our trip even more fun. We were always on time arriving and departing to any of our destinations and always felt safe. I hope that I get to see Marcos and Reuben again when I join another tour in Peru in the future. My trip to Peru would not have been the same if it weren't for Marcos and Reuben. They make such a great team. I give them more than the highest star rating one can ever earn. I hope all of Gate1 travels' tour guides are as great as them as I plan to use Gate1 again in my very near future travels. Thank you, thank you so much Marcos and Reuben!

My trip to Peru was absolutely AMAZING! Every Gate 1 representative was so helpful and nice the entire trip. Jimmy was an amazing tour manager for our group. You can tell he really cares for the group and making sure everyone is safe and having a great time. He also is very knowledgeable and passionate about his country and enjoys sharing the knowledge with others. Cesar was our bus driver for the majority of the trip and he did an amazing job at taking us to and from every destination. Alexander was our local guide (Cusco) and he was also amazing. He was so helpful and knowledgeable about the city. He also was very personable with all of the group members and was really easy to make friends with. Please give him and Jimmy a raise!! My trip wouldn't have been as great without them two being there!

I just wanted to take a moment to praise our tour manager and his assistant in Cusco. Marcos was a consummate guide and caretaker throughout our travels. He kept us informed, comfortable, fed, accommodated, and smiling the whole trip. I dropped my phone and shattered the screen at one point, and he helped me find a repairman, negotiate the price, and made sure the job was done promptly and completely. He made everyone on the tour feel included and like family, which was absolute joy. Alex, who assisted Marcos in Cusco, was also wonderful, easy to communicate with and so knowledgable. As well, the naturalists aboard our Amazon cruise, Marcos, Charlie, and Jesus, seemed to really love sharing the wealth of knowledge they had about their Amazon homeland and the importance of protecting it. We are so thankful for the work of all of these men, and would recommend this trip to anyone looking for a safe, informative, well-organized adventure.

It was an excellent trip! We learned so much about Peru thanks to our wonderful tour manager, Edgar. Our particular highlights were Machu Picchu, the floating islands of the Uros, and the various local markets. The museums and festivals were also outstanding! Edgar did a fantastic job of providing information about the various locations and Peru as a whole. He even provided us with samples of local foods (much appreciated!). Our drivers and local guides were top-knotch, and we will continue to use Gate One as our travel company because of the quality/expertise provided!

JI just want to commend your wonderful tour manager. Abel. He is AMAZING!!! He ensured that each of us was safe, satisfied, healthy and had an amazing time in the beautiful country of Peru for such an epic trip. He ensured that the group was immersed well not just with the culture and the communities we visited but also with each other. It felt like i have a cousin in Peru because of how amiable and accommodating and hospitable Abel had been. I have been on other Gate1 tours and Abel has been the best tour manager we have ever had!!! Kudos to Gate1 for allowing us to truly have an epic time in Peru but most especially to Abel!!!

Our trip was absolutely fantastic!!!!! Both my husband and I are so very happy with Gate1 and your coordination of the entire trip. We had such fantastic time from the beginning to the very end. Love Peru, it's people, culture and of course our tour manager, who made it so much more special!

Nancy and I recently returned from your 12-day Peru and Machu Picchu tour, and we wanted to take a moment to express our sincere appreciation for two exceptional members of your team: our guide, Rubin, and his assistant, Joel. From the moment our journey began until we reached the incredible wonder of Machu Picchu, Rubin and Joel were outstanding. Their professionalism, knowledge, patience, and genuine care for every traveler made our experience far more enjoyable and stress-free than we could have imagined. Rubin's knowledge of Peru's history, culture, and people brought every destination to life. He was organized, informative, and always willing to answer questions with enthusiasm and good humor. His passion for his country was evident every day and added tremendous value to the tour. Joel was equally impressive. He worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure everything ran smoothly, always ready to assist with logistics, luggage, directions, and any unexpected needs that arose. His kindness and attention to detail never went unnoticed. Traveling through Peru, especially to destinations such as Cusco, the Sacred Valley, and Machu Picchu, requires a great deal of coordination. Rubin and Joel handled every challenge with professionalism and grace, making us feel cared for throughout the entire trip. Please extend our heartfelt thanks and recognition to both of them. They are wonderful ambassadors for Gate 1 Travel and played a major role in making this trip one of the most memorable vacations Nancy and I have ever taken.

Juan, our Tour Director was beyond excellent. We have taken 24 trips with Gate 1 and he is in the top 3. He worked so hard to make sure all of us were taken care of, especially in the high altitudes. You could tell he cared about our comfort and safety, ensuring that we had a memorable journey. We had a slight health issue and he made sure we were ok and suggested options that would help with our situation. We were going to skip lunch one day and he suggested that we still attend and he would ask the restaurant to make us something soothing. He did and it was perfect, what a kind gesture. His knowledge of Peru was amazing, the history, as well as some fun facts and suggestions of places to visit on during our free time. His organization skills are exemplary, with all the modes of transportation, he still kept us all together and made sure we knew what to expect ahead of each transfer. There were a lot of moving parts on this tour; however, traveling with Juan made it easy and enjoyable. Jason, Juan's assistant for part of the tour helped make traveling even better. His help with the tours and transfers was fantastic and added to the comfort of the trip. We had several first time Gate 1 travelers on this trip and they commented on what great care the Tour Directors provided. They had been tours with other companies and did not experience the level of service that they received with Juan and Jason. I told them this is why we keep coming back to Gate 1 as we too have traveled with other companies over the years and found Gate 1 provided the best tour experiences. I cannot thank Juan enough for all he did during our adventure to Peru.

My trip was fantastic. All the tour guides, but the main tour guides Paul and Eduardo were outstanding and excellent. Paul was the main one and he had a lot of patience. He was experienced. He was always nice and polite. He was very helpful. He answered all our questions. He was an excellent tour guide.

Abel was an excellent tour manager. He was kind, respectful, caring, compassionate, patient, good sense of humor. Always smiling and helpful. A very hard worker to make sure everyone was getting the best info. Tour guides Henry and Jamie excellent. Bus driver was helpful with boarding and getting off with a smile, Justino. I would and will recommend this trip to friends. Thank You. I love Gate 1.

I wanted to take a moment to further extend my appreciation for our recent trip. Every thing was great but I wanted to mention a couple things that I felt were particularly exceptional. First, each of the hotels where truly wonderful. All 4 were excellent. Great staffs, clean, wonderful amenities, great breakfasts and amazing locations. We were so pleased with each. Second, our guide Ruben was fantastic. He was extraordinary. His knowledge and passion for Peru and all the sites we visited really enhanced our appreciation of the trip. I am terribly organized personally, so I was very grateful and impressed with the level of organization, communication, and ability to keep a schedule, especially when dealing with a diverse group, that Ruben maintained throughout . He should be commended for his work. Lastly, the additional personal who assisted with our trip all went above and beyond. Dante, our primary bus driver was so impressive. Driving anywhere in Peru looks nearly impossible to a layman and his ability to keep us safe and sound and comfortable was unmatched. Freddy from Cusco and Kevin in the Puno area both added to our enjoyment of the trip. They had wonderful personalities and were eager to do whatever they could for us. Thanks so much for bringing together these great people who made our trip so special. A sincere thanks from us all.

12 Day Peru with 3 Day Amazon Cruise & Machu Picchu: while Machu Picchu was the big attraction to booking this trip, I will say that the 3-day Amazon Cruise was THE highlight. The experience of being immersed in Amazonia was like non-other. The boat tour company and their guides were outstanding -- knowledgeable, friendly, funny, caring . . . overall WOW and 5 stars! Special shout out to Jesus, Charlie, and Marcos (boat Marcos). They knew the land, the people and provided 3 amazing days; the boat crew were also very, very good and made the whole experience even brighter. I will remember my time on the Amazon for the rest of my life (I really cannot stop talking about it to people). I also want to put in a special thank you and shout out to Felix, the Gate 1 assistant to our Tour Guide, Marcos. He kept an eye on us, knew the area, and added extra flavor to our excursions. Thank you, Gate 1, for another amazing adventure.

I want to express my gratitude for the superlative service Juan provided for us on the Peru Classic Tour. He thoughtfully, intelligently and gracefully handled every situation. He was very knowledgeable, caring, compassionate and his organization and time management were impeccable. He had a great sense of humor and kept us all laughing. I was truly amazed that one person could manifest all these qualities in a sustained manner. In addition, I want to express my gratitude to our driver Rosell. He skillfully and safely drove our bus in very challenging situations: on windy snowy Andean roads, packed city rush hour streets, and narrow muddy rural roads.

I just got back from Peru-10 Day Classic Peru - Plan A Hotels. It was a trip more than that. There was more to the trip. Up until the very last day, every detail of the itinerary was carefully planned. I will always cherish the memories I made there, and it held a lot of power for me. Their cuisine, culture, history, and landscapes were all fantastic. Our tour manager Washington and the other staff members Jason and driver Cezar also contributed to its uniqueness. They were so caring, punctual and very professional. Washington throughout the tour, in addition to the numerous information he had, what made him special was not only his knowledge, but the way he shared the spirit and wisdom of the Inca culture. He helped us connect with the history, traditions, and spirituality of Peru on a much deeper level. His guidance made this trip unforgettable, and he was one of the highlights of our entire journey. Thank you Gate 1 for this amazing trip!

I would like to commend Julio, our tour manager, for his excellent service. He was one of the best tour managers I have had with Gate 1 and made the trip to Peru a very memorable one. He was organized, knowledgeable, and very attentive to all of the needs in our group. He should be recognized for the excellent job he provided!

Elvis, our devoted and highly experienced Tour Guide made the Peruvian Legends Discovery Tour come alive for our group. From the very beginning in Lima throughout the itinerary which included Arequipa, Colca Canyon, Puno, Lake Titicaca, Cusco, Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu were unforgettable. The in-country flights between cities were made so easy with Elvis' leadership and control of the group from check-in to our destination. The Gate-1 team included Elvis, Pepe, Dante, and Marisio worked seamlessly to make our tour the best.

I just returned from a tour with Gate1 in Peru. It was FANTASTIC. I had never toured with Gate1 previously, though I have with several other companies. Gate1 is superior to those -- and our tour guide, Ruben, was the best! He was so friendly, knowledgeable, personable, and talented (played the flute/recorder on the bus while we were traveling). Plus, Ruben provided clear and detailed instructions that made each day's plans simple to follow. For part of the tour, we also had another guide, Joao, who was also very helpful and friendly. As for Peru - what a lovely Country. I highly recommend to my friends that they take a tour of such a beautiful place. And, hopefully, Rugen will be their tour guide. Also, I was so pleasantly surprised by being provided with bottled water on the bus - every day. That was very much appreciated. And at the time we had a "boxed" lunch - WOW, so much food. Thank you, thank you.

"Excellent" does not go far enough to describe Abel. He is the most organized person I've ever met. He went far beyond expectations to ensure that our trip, especially airport transfers, went extremely smoothly. Additionally, he took great pains to ensure our health and safety, particularly regarding our travels at the altitudes we were not used to. I cannot praise Abel enough. He was an outstanding tour manager.

I wanted to say that our tour manager Paval was the best tour manager that I have ever encountered with any company. I rated him excellent on everything, but I wanted you to know that in every category he went above and beyond. He made us all feel like we were in his family and he thought of everything from things to do in leisure to very interesting personal anecdotes about an area. He is top notch Our local guide in Cusco, Avaral was also outstanding. He was extremely knowledgeable, courteous, helpful and kind. He was an excellent tour manager. He took a subset of us on the Machu Pichu walk. It was amazing. He had so much knowledge and he helped us with photos at great locations. All of your local guides are very good, but Avalral was outstanding!!!

Henry, our tour director, is very knowledgeable and well versed about historical beginnings and early transformations of Incas up to modern times. He keeps his group well informed and well managed but most of all, always keeps his team safe. He could be a great asset to Gate1.

Tour Manager Percy was fantastic. Have grown to expect knowledgeable and competent guides with our Gate 1 trips. But Percy and Jason took things to another level by making so many things seamless for myself and the group. Examples included having our baggage tags and boarding passes printed out ahead of time, and distributed to us ahead of both flights within Peru. Also had our ID name tags ready for us and always distributed a copy of, and discussed the next day's schedule the night before. Also like to note that our Inca Trail guide, Jose - was MOST helpful in helping complete the trek up to Machu Picchu. A great team of folks!

The trip was fantastic -- a beautiful country, awesome tour guides, and a well-organized trip by Gate 1! Thanks for checking in! Highly recommended to...everyone!

I can't praise this experience enough! This was my first time doing a multi-day guided tour, and I'd been incredibly hesitant to do one, because I've always enjoyed traveling at my own pace. But the Gate 1 eleven day Peru trip blew me away, and I'm so glad I decided to go with this company and this tour! Our guide Edgar was truly wonderful in every way. I am a tour guide in California, so I know how hard the job is and what a good tour guide looks like vs a bad one. He was exceptional, as were Angela, Joel, Broz, and Alvaro as well. What a team! Everything about the tour was perfect, from the hotels and meals to the focused experiences and the optional ones. It was well paced, well planned, and seamlessly coordinated, despite tons of moving pieces. It was so incredibly soothing to be able to relax knowing I was in the hands of expert guides and an exceptional company. Every day and every little experience was educational and meaningful, and I really appreciated Edgar taking an anthropological approach to so much of his guiding. I'd been dreaming of seeing Peru ever since studying about it in college 25 years ago, and Gate 1 and Edgar brought it all to life for me and made my dream trip come true. Thank you!

Victor's passion for his country, his knowledge, concern for the well being of the 19 guests in our group, or "family" has he called us, and his incredible management for some VERY complicated locations like Machu Picchu. Again, hands down Victor was the best.

Our Gate 1 Peru vacation was one of our best Gate 1 trips ever! Our tour guide, Pavel, was super organized, very well informed, and very professional. Also, all the folks in our tour group were friendly and easy to get along with. It was one of the most tight knit tour groups we've travelled with. The local guides were all very knowledgeable and professional. The tour exceeded my expectations. For example, I thought I'd be lucky to see 1 or 2 condors soaring at an extreme distance, but we saw over 15 condors!, many of which flew and roosted quite close to us. I need to make sure Gate 1 sees my very positive impressions of our tour guide, Pavel, as well as the other local experts.

It was wonderful!! Couldn't have been better. Our guides Javier in Ecuador and Ronald in Peru were awesome in every way! The drivers were amazing and the local guides were so informative and passionate about their culture and countries. I would certainly recommend it to all travelers and friends.

Our tour guide, Jose, was outstanding in every respect. Super knowledgeable, incredibly organized, and always upbeat and patient.

Had a truly great time and Rolly was fantastic in every which way ! He was very knowledgeable and helpful, Going out of his way many times! The sights were breathtakingly beautiful and we really were blessed with perfect weather everywhere! Thanks for a great trip!

My trip was the most amazing adventure with Gate 1. Our tour director Elvis was a fantastic leader of our Peru family. Our group consisted of various personalities and backgrounds that came together to form a bond that created a lasting impression on me. We had the best driver Julio navigating the beautiful terrain of the various cities of Peru. Our knowledgeable tour guides Mauricio and Jason were extremely informative and helpful. It was an awesome experience.

Elvis was exceptional, competent, caring, knowledgeable, funny. Perfect mix of factual and personal information. Everything is taken care of swiftly and well. Superb. Our driver julio was also superb, good driver, kind, smiling at us. Excellent trip overall. Thank you.

We were on the 14 Day Peruvian Legends tour. Our tour guide, Elvis, was one of the most exceptional guide we have experienced. We had some of our follow guest have altitude sickness and other medical problems, he handled everything perfectly and with great skill. While visiting the school in Peru you could tell that the students and staff at the school were very happy and excited to see Elvis. He had a diverse group and was able to work with everyone and gain cohesion to make a fun trip. Elvis helped us understand the politics of election in Peru and how the country developed and is now functioning. Thanks for finding an excellent guide for our tour. You should be very proud to have Elvis on your team.

I wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed being able to visit both the Amazon and the Andes on my recent trip. It was the chance to experience both locales that led me to book this trip. I also wanted to commend Mauricio for his outstanding service as our tour manager. He went out of his way to take good care of each of us, and we learned so much from him. Plus he had a great sense of humor and made the trip fun as well as informative. Another plus was that all of the members of our group were kind, considerate, friendly, and punctual. That's a tribute both to the tone set by Mauricio and the type of traveler that Gate 1 attracts.

Just a shout out to our tour manager, Gary! On our 12 day Peru Kaleidoscope tour! He took good care of us like a family, we felt safe, and he is the best!

Just wanted to say our guide Edgar for the Peru 10 day classic was the best guide ever. He went above and beyond his duties and handled everything with professionalism and grace and best guide I've ever experienced including knowledge.

Abel was a knowledgeable, positive, caring tour manager on our trip. He made sure we were always taken care of going above and beyond what was expected. I would highly recommend him as a requested trip tour manager to our friends. Rodrigo, the assistant manager for part of the tour, was very helpful and informative, as well. Walter, who assisted us in coming from and going to the airport, was friendly and welcoming. He gave us great suggestions as to what to explore on our first day in Lima. The drivers were excellent. They made us feel safe as we drove sometimes at night in heavy traffic and on windy roads. Gate1 has chosen the most excellent people to conduct this tour! I will recommend this tour to friends.

This was our first Gate 1 trip. I want to express how much we appreciated our tour manager Jose. He was likely one of the best tour guides/managers we have experienced. Excellent communication and organizational skills Incredibly knowledgeable, personable, highly responsible, always focused on our safety (physical safety as well as food), kept the group aligned around complex logistics for Machu Picchu - and just a wealth of knowledge and kindness. We were also super impressed with all the Gate 1 personnel that we encountered from the start to the end - drivers, assistant tour managers, airport transfer guides etc. - as well as the trip organization and depth experienced in a compact timeline.

I just returned from an amazing 10 day tour of Peru and I want to thank our wonderful guide Washington for a fascinating cultural experience. His indigenous background and many years of experience obviously meant our trip was seamless and our experiences were enriched from the depth of his knowledge of the country and culture. His assistant Jimmy also added a lot to our enjoyment as well. He will be someone that could follow in Washington's footsteps for sure. Highlights for me were, of course Machu Picchu (we lucked out with weather), the cultural center visit of Chinchero in the Sacred Valley and the visit to the reed islands and their inhabitants on Lake Titicaca. Of course the countryside scenery everywhere was stunning. Thanks Gate 1 for another amazing well organized tour.

We had an amazing trip in Peru with Gate 1. We hit the lottery with our tour manager, Pavel. Pavel is the best tour manager we've had so far for all the discovery trips we went on. He's so kind-hearted and dedicated to his job, to our small group of 8 people 24/7 with such personal care for each one of us. He goes way over and beyond his duties to give us as much cultural experience as possible by offering optional activities in our free time such as leisure walk around our hotel in Puno, a bon fire with roasting marshmallows and music before dinner in Colca, a folklore dancing show with dinner in Puno, tasting different kinds of breads along our drives, a market tour, etc... and much more. Our journey was extra special because of Pavel. He was so excited to show us Cuzco, his beautiful hometown, and we had a wonderful 3 nights there. Thanks to our main driver, Irving, for his incredible driving skills and navigating us through a couple of transportation strikes without a hitch. Thank you Maria, Jose, and David for your local expertise in Lima, Ariquipa, and Puno. Thank you again for a memorable journey, one that we will never forget and looking forward to our next trips with Gate1.

I recently completed 10 days in Peru with Alejandro as the tour manager. I traveled alone for my 30th birthday celebration and Alejandro, all assistant tour guides, all day tour guides, and all drivers made my experience safe, comfortable, fun and one I will not soon forget. The experience was so beautiful I feel compelled to share with Gate 1 how lovely the staff was. Alejandro, Elisa, Alberto, Broz, Pepe (driver), Dante (driver), the family that hosted dinner - all deserve recognition on their phenomenal assistance. Thank you!
