Wonderful! Beautiful sights, delicious food, clean modern hotels, very friendly people. Our tour manager, Steve, was not only very knowledgeable about the history of Vietnam , that was super organized, very caring and attentive to all the needs of the group , and went over and above the usual duties of a tour manager to ensure everything was smooth and easy for everybody. I was most impressed when he even showed up on departure day at 6:30 AM to make sure my ride was on time and even to guide us to safely cross the street in the crazy Vietnam traffic.

I had the greatest time. The places that we visited are beautiful. The services of our tour manager and the local tour guides are very impressive, knowledgeable people. My experience went beyond my expectations. Thank you.

The entire trip was amazing - enjoyable and learned a lot. The tour manager and local guide in Siem Reap were excellent. They were very knowledgeable on the history of the places we visited. They also shared lots of interesting local information that had personal sentiments, which made the places more relatable to the present. On Day 6 - Dinner with cooking demo and with history of the Thai home's residents was most enjoyable - deserving a special mention. The food was absolutely delicious, home-made with authentic local ingredients & methods. Their descriptions of their big house (of teak), garden and history were interesting and reflective of the Thai societal changes over the years. It was a very educational and worthwhile experience. Totally recommended!

Just wanted to pass on that our TM, Mr Oh is OUTSTANDING. He put his heart and soul into the trip. Taught us so much . Gate 1 is really lucky to have such great TM like him. Couldn't ask for anything more. He is friendly, highly organized, clear, smart, and insightful. He was on top of everything and knew how to interact with the guests. I had an excellent time. The Steven the guide was wonderful,! He made sure we were prepared for every next adventure., helping us to get through airport security. Visa readiness , flight schedules changes etc. The meals were delicious, entertainment great , as were the accommodations ! The other guides through the individual towns were great too! My wife and I just completed your 13 Day Philippines Culture & Adventure tour. Great job Gate 1 - what an amazing trip! We not only experienced a beautiful nation, we also basked in the warmth and good cheer of the Filipino people. The sights, the structures, and the various islands & adventures Gate 1 guided us through were well worth the long trip from Indiana, but what we will remember most was the people - the wonderful travel mates we were fortunate to be paired with, the outstandingly welcoming Filipinos we encountered everywhere, the excellent local guides, and our Best-in-Class Tour Manager, Mellany. To say that Lany was superb would be an understatement. This was our 15th Gate 1 tour, and all our Tour Managers have been very good to excellent, not a clinker in the bunch - but Lany wins the Best-in-Class prize. Each member of our group was presented with a small gift bag as they arrived, along with a printed booklet, complete with pictures, of all the activities of every day of our tour. This booklet should become a best practice for all Tour Managers. But a booklet cannot convey the ongoing warmth and care that Lany delivered every day of our adventure. I believe that her attitude and her leadership, along with her infectious kindness and that of her fellow Filipinos, was a significant contributor to how well our travel group got along with each other. Gate 1 is very fortunate to have her leading some of its first tours in this wonderful country, and we were most fortunate to have Lany guiding us on our journey through the Philippine Islands - she even sings!

Our Gate 1 "16 GEMS OF SOUTHEAST ASIA" journey from January-February 2026 was made truly exceptional because of our remarkable tour manager. From the very first day to the final farewell, he demonstrated a rare combination of professionalism, warmth, and genuine care that elevated the entire experience for every traveler in our group. What stood out most was his extraordinary kindness and attentiveness. He never treated the tour as a crowd - he treated it as a collection of individuals. Whether someone needed assistance navigating a busy airport, extra time boarding, help with dietary needs, or simply reassurance in a new environment, he anticipated concerns before they were even spoken. Every guest felt seen, respected, and safe, which is no small accomplishment on a multi-country journey. His depth of knowledge across Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, and Thailand was equally impressive. He shared history, cultural context, language nuances, and local traditions in a way that was engaging rather than overwhelming. Temples, markets, and historic sites came alive through his storytelling - explaining not just what we were seeing, but why it mattered. Our trip to Vietnam was wonderful. Our tour manager, Phi, was amazing and went above and beyond to make the trip memorable for everyone. He was so fun, caring, courteous, and extremely knowledgeable about Vietnam and exhibited a true love for his country and his career as a tour guide. All planned activities went smoothly with everything so well planned. Phi did such a great job and his booklet with the schedule and information we needed was priceless! Thank you, Phi, and hope to cross paths again someday.

The tour exceeded our expectations. The itinerary was perfect, the hotels were great and experience was very memorable. The local guides were knowledgeable and very professional. We have had very good tour directors on previous trips, but Tick was the best ever! He was consistently organized while always being upbeat and caring. He made his job look easy, while constantly smiling. We will definitely consider Gate 1 for future tours.

I would like to commend Vuong for his extraordinary job as a tour manager; his care and attention to each one of us (around 38) are laudable. He designed, printed, and gave us each a booklet on Vietnam filled with pictures, historical and cultural facts, invaluable tips, and suggestions for restaurants and free-time activities. He made sure each of us was well taken care of; whether those who needed special meals, those who only would walk slowly, or those who had special requests; he is amazing! Furthermore, he is organized, diligent, efficient, attentive to detail - outstanding! Every one of us paid attention and followed his lead!

This was an amazing tour. Dang was the best tour director we have ever had in 8-10 trips with Gate 1. He knew his information about the history, culture, geography, etc. of the places we visited. More importantly, he helped us deal with a very different culture by prepping us for the quantity of motorbikes we would encounter in Saigon and rest of Vietnam, the foods we would have at various dinners, his favorite foods in various areas (Coconut coffee and Bahn Min sandwiches and Pho), reminding us mindless travelers to check our rooms carefully at check out and how to stay safe in our rooms, helping us learn Vietnamese words etc. And... Dang shared an incredible sense of humor and a beautiful spirit and soul with us. He capably achieved incredible group harmony--punctuality at 100%!!!, helping us navigate what could be testy situations with Vietnam War memories and exhibits and helping us avoid political conversation among each other. He's set the bar very high for us!!!

We enjoyed our trip of a lifetime to Southeast Asia. The itinerary was set at a perfect pace; the hotels were stunning and so much was included in enhancing the day with included tours and wonderful food. A big thank you to our Tour Manager, oh who was professional, organized and knowledgeable. Nothing was too much trouble and his kindness showed through!

I just got back from the Classic Vietnam Tour and it was an amazing experience. Everything was so well organized, and a big part of that was thanks to our tour manager, Tom. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and truly went out of his way to make sure everyone had a great time. He even gave us a detailed daily booklet with schedules and helpful info, which made the whole trip run so smoothly. I've been on many Gate 1 tours and have always had great tour managers, but Tom really stood out. You could feel how much he loves and takes pride in his country, and that made the experience even more special. Vietnam is absolutely worth visiting - I highly recommend adding it to your bucket list!

5 star experience Nu was the best guide I have ever experienced in my 50 years of travel. He did his job with style and grace where others would have crumbled under the circumstances at times. I will book my tours with Gate1 for Asia based on when and where Nu is guiding.

I just wanted to add a comment to my Bali vacation survey. The TM Rocky, Driver Rudi and local Guide Amy were fantastic!! They truly embodied the Bali spirit, and each did a terrific job of exposing us to Bali culture and beauty. They made a great trip even better and I truly appreciate their opening doors for us to experience Bali firsthand. Also, the staff at each hotel deserve extra thanks. Just great people.

I would like to sincerely complement our tour director, Hai, for going above and beyond to make our trip exceptionally enjoyable. Hai consistently checked on our comfort each day and ensured every detail was taken care of with professionalism, warmth, and genuine care. My trip to Vietnam has been an amazing experience. Having grown up in the 1960s, my mind draws images of Vietnam as a war-torn country, where its people live in oppressed conditions under communist ideology, a country hostile to American citizens. Then whoosh! Forward to the present & I find something very different. I see a happy, hardworking population - a mix of the old & new. The country is moving full speed into the future! I see modern high rises & big businesses in large cities. I see small traditional housing structures in old neighborhoods. Businesses, shops, & restaurants are everywhere. Then there's the history. Our tour group visits several UNESCO designated sites - temples, ancient palaces, & the beautiful Ha Long Bay. Our tour manager Tran is full of smiles. His smiling is contagious. When he smiles, then we smile back. He is funny, compassionate, caring to all, & has become a good friend to the people in our travel group. Never a dull moment! In time I will likely forget many of the places that we visited, but I will remember the funny stories that he shared with us. He is a person who has endured difficult times in his life, & he seems to "glow" with optimism for a better future for all. Vietnam is truly a "gem", a best kept secret in Southeast Asia. The country is safe for visitors & its people are welcoming. The food is good. My favorites are the fruit we sampled during our excursion to the Mekong Delta. This is an active tour, an opportunity to eat tasty food, learn about the country's history-past & present, see beautiful landscapes, & enjoy shopping. 'Would love to come back someday & see more!

Just got back from Vietnam and I want to give a BIG shout out to our tour manager Rex. He did a marvelous job guiding us to his home country and you can see his passion, enthusiasm and with added touch of humor. He went above and beyond to make sure that we have a wonderful time in Vietnam and an example of this was when we ran out of local money, he let us borrow some so we can buy all the goodies we wanted, and he also helped us out when we went over the required baggage allowance. Truly lucky for Gate1 to have such an employee and he sure is a keeper and an asset to the company. I like ALL the optional tours, but my favorite is the Halong Bay tour - love it and so beautiful and relaxing.

We love our trip to Vietnam specifically the cooking class and cycle tour and food and hotels. Most of all we love Victor our tour manager... excellent. We had been to many gate 1 tours but our tour manager Victor is the best. We give him an A ++... he did his responsibility to all of us above and beyond I expect. He helped find place to buy silk products and the aprons. He researched for me and he went to the store to make sure the apron liked is available. He is kind and very knowledgeable of his country . He accompanied us to the airport and said goodbye. We felt Victor as a family member. Ge is our gate 1 family. We highly recommend him and we will come back to go to 14 days tour of Vietnam. We like to have Victor again as our tour manager.

Our tour in Vietnam was exceptional thanks to our guide, Duc. His deep knowledge of Vietnamese history, culture, and local traditions enriched every moment of the trip. Our trip was amazing!! Eka was a fabulous tour manager. Everything went seamlessly from my perspective. Our group of 19 connected and became close knit early in the tour which added to the enjoyment. Again, Eka went above and beyond and we were all grateful for all of the knowledge she shared about the history and life in Indonesia.

I want to say how thankful I am that Dang was our tour guide. He went above and beyond to ensure there were no problems on the trip and kept us on schedule. He made himself available 24/7 to resolve any issues or concerns that a member of the group may have. He's very professional, personable, and courteous. I very much enjoyed listening to his insights on growing up in Vietnam and learning about the local culture. He also provided great restaurant recommendations. The local tour guides were also exceptional.

This tour was our 8th with Gate 1. We have always had great guides, great accommodation, great transportation, and generally great meals. My husband and I both agree that this tour of Vietnam has surpassed all of the others. How is it possible to exceed excellence? I wouldn't have thought it was possible, but our tour manager, Tom, did!! He is an amazing, fun guide. His knowledge, his pride of country, his concern for our safety and our enjoyment of all that Vietnam had to offer as well as his care for our group harmony somehow surpassed excellence!! He is a true asset to Gate 1. It is my hope that Gate 1 is already aware of this but, just in case, I wanted to add my two cents. Thank you, Gate 1, for providing "More of the world for less". We always felt that way, and your good ambassador, Tom, quite literally reminded us that it is Gate 1's stated mission. Amazing, but even more amazing, is that he truly made us feel the truth of it!! We're looking forward to Gate 1 trip #9 in 2026.

Just wrapped up a 12-day Vietnam tour with Gate 1, and I want to give a huge shout-out to our guide, KAN. His pride in his hometown, his knowledge, his education, and his love for this country made every stop unforgettable. For more than nine years with Gate 1, he's been leading groups with professionalism, patience, and heart. Managing 33 travelers is no easy task, but he handled it with calm confidence and still took the time to look out for me and support my independent style. KAN represents Vietnam the right way-with dignity, respect, and genuine care. I'm grateful for his hard work and for the sacrifices he makes being away from his family to give travelers experiences like this. If you're heading to Vietnam with Gate 1, I hope you get KAN. He made the trip special!!!!

Our trip was very enjoyable. We were able to experience a new culture, try new food and interact with animals all while living in top quality hotels. Our tour guide manager Boom was a great host. The trip was great!. Enjoyed the organization and surprisingly add on's. This trip was a bit warm, but seeing the sights help forget. Rocky, guide, Murjana, assist guide were both very attentive, full of fun and laughter. Anom the driver was fabulous, especially when it got to be our turn to sit up front of the bus. The group of travelers with us , also full of fun and adventurous. Another trip with Gate 1, that we enjoyed.

I cannot say enough about our group leader, Goy. Her organization, help with visas, good humor, and watchful eye for our safety and comfort in varying circumstances, in a very hot climate were consistent and greatly appreciated.

Just came back from Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam, Just wanted to say our tour guides were amazing, Steve was the one that stood out the most for me he covered our Vietnam trip and when I say he made this such a memorable experience he went above and beyond to keep us occupied with things to do and places to go when most of our pre planned events was flooded out he came through. He stuck with us till the very end. Such an amazing guy. Hope to when I do a future Gate1 trip he's the tour guide.

I want to let you know our tour manager, Tom, truly provided exceptional services throughout our trip. His professionalism, demeanor, friendliness, and knowledge were one of the best I've experienced from tour managers. However, his actions during our emergency, during the flooding in Hue, were truly amazing. He worked throughout the night to make sure we were evacuated the next morning. He kept us informed throughout the entire emergency, and he kept us calm and assured he was in control. He made sure we were fed at the hotel and had enough water. He used all his local contacts to make sure we were cared for. All the while, he kept a smile on his face and was totally calm throughout the entire ordeal. We ended up not missing anything on our itinerary, but more importantly, we were kept safe. He was truly a hero and deserves to be employee of the year!

My trip to Bali was excellent! Gusti is a wonderful guide. He is caring and full of knowledge. He answered all my questions. I learned so much about Indonesian culture. Both hotels were excellent and comfortable. The included meals were delicious. The final dinner was exceptional. Overall, the trip was great. I look forward to visiting Indonesia again in the future.

This trip was amazing overall. The quality of the accommodations, the service, the food, the tours and the value far exceeded my expectations. More importantly, I am compelled to provide feedback regarding Dang, our Tour Manager. We started off in Cambodia with a group of 7 travelers. The ease in which he moved from managing 7 travelers to 37 travelers was masterful. I never felt neglected, forgotten or unsafe. Dang was available at all hours and provided a personalized blue book with all our travel information, suggestions for free time and information regarding each area we were visiting. Adding to that was his handy-dandy little reference square to put in our lanyards that contained simple Vietnamese translations for hello, goodbye, thank you, etc. and on the flip side, he provided a quick reference to money exchange values. That's just the beginning of his thoughtfulness, generosity, kindness and availability. I've received great service from Gate 1 to date but the experience, value, positivity, professionalism, and knowledge that Dang shared willingly was above and beyond anything I've experienced. Dang should be the trainer for all tour managers. He is the epitome of what Gate 1 represents and strives to convey. Dang is the best I've ever encountered and experienced. I told him so, but I want to make sure Gate 1 understands and comprehends how he elevated this trip experience for me and each of the other travelers. Thank you, thank you, thank you Dang.

Thang/Victor deserves the best ratings. His level of service went beyond "above and beyond" assuring EVERYONE'S safety and enjoyment. I was impressed with his diligence and concern that everyone was taken care of enjoying themselves and always with a smile reflecting enjoyment of his job. We just completed our tour of Vietnam with gate one and I wanted you to know that our Tour Guide Tony was the best Tour Guide we have ever had on any of our vacations. The 8 days essential trip to Vietnam from Sept 10-17, 2025 was amazing, memorable and educational. Our tour guide named Thang was very knowledgeable from the history to the current events which amazed and made us appreciate even more all the tourist spots that we went to and the country itself. He was punctual, attentive and made sure all our needs and concerns are highly met and satisfied. He went beyond and above the services that any tourist guide will do. Being under his guidance, our group formed a bond of friendships and memories that can never be taken away. He is an asset to the country of Vietnam and the agency of Gate 1. We are hoping that more tourists will be able to avail his services! He is truly a dedicated man who will bring great prestige to the agency.

My trip to Bali was the BEST! Our guide, Gusti, was smart, helpful and fun. The attractions were so interesting, the time was well thought out, never seemed rushed, but never got bored. Highly recommend.

I thoroughly enjoyed my trip. It started with Nu in Bangkok. He was so accessible and such a great tour manager. He provided valuable information which helped us secure a driver to the floating market. He took us to a beautiful mall. He cared about our safety. We were a group of six and got along well. I just wished I could have spent more time in Bangkok with Nu. Upon arriving in Cambodia, we met Tran. Tran was quite impressive. He began by providing a booklet with our daily schedule and daily quotes which were thoughtful and meaningful. He provided factual sheets on each place we visited along with meaningful quotes. There was never any doubt about where we should be at any given time. Also the local guide in Cambodia, Sam, was kind and provided a wealth of information. When arriving in Vietnam, we were joined with 19 people for a group of 25. The group got along very well. We were like a family. Tran was such a great tour manager/leader. He was well organized and everything moved like a well oiled machine. He made sure we had what we needed. He was so accessible and was attentive to our needs. I loved so many things about Tran and loved the way he handled our group. His way of rotating the seats on the bus is the best I've seen. No confusion of where you are seated. We had interesting group discussions which were quite informative. Tran should be commended for the excellent job that he did. He got a group of 25 who didn't know each other in the beginning but really enjoyed being together and had lots of fun. I only have good things to say about Tran and he is the best tour manager that I've encountered in all of my numerous group travel. We need more Tran's. He made my trip unforgettable.

Just wanted to take a moment to let you know how incredible of a guide and person Gusti is. We were blown away by his knowledge, attention to detail, and wonderful personality. He really made it clear that while Bali has amazing sites, beaches, and nature, their most incredible aspect is their people. We will definitely be traveling with gate 1 again (and will be returning to Bali in the future as well). Though I doubt we will have another tour manager as amazing as Gusti (that would be a tall order).

I would like to acknowledge and compliment your assistant tour manager Ida, who was not on your survey but was invaluable to our group. She was efficient, prompt, polite, extremely professional, and proficient. She kept us on track and informed about the culture and customs of Bali. She assisted us in navigating all of our excursions in Ubud and several in Bonoa. She was extremely knowledgeable and helpful and deserves recognition for her expertise. She even took pictures for many of us. She was phenomenal.

Please Promote Mr. Thang! He is a man of good character and integrity!! I can put all of the tour managers I've had next to him and they wouldn't come near the bar he has set, it's pretty high (with the exception of Linda, Ireland, she was amazing as well! )!! Safety was priority number one! He united the guests as family!! As a solo traveler, he made sure I was included and not left alone ( they had all bonded from Cambodia and Thailand). I joined in Vietnam. G1, you out did yourselves in this trip!! Everything associated with the trip was top notch/tier!! What stands out the most, dinner at the private home. The owner gave us some background about the house, her family, and the business. Quite impressive!! G1, I will only travel with you because as the motto goes, See More of the World for Less. On my limited budget for travel, I've been able to visit some great countries that other companies cannot match, be it the price or itinerary !! Keep up the great work!!

Our recent SE Asia trip was outstanding. Vit was exceptional as the tour manager as he worked very hard to ensure we had a great experience. I would also want to point out Hoan, our Vietnam guide as being excellent and offered us the opportunity to ask tough questions and he provided us with the history of Vietnam. Both Vit and Hoan had excellent English skills and great sense of humor. In fact, all of our local guides provided us with tremendous knowledge and excellent service. A special shoutout to the bus drivers for their excellent skills too. I was thoroughly impressed with the hotel arrangements and Baya Classic boat in Halong Bay. This is our second Gate 1 trip and won't be the last. Thank you to the team at Gate 1 for making our Gems of SE Asia the most memorable, educational and culturally exceptional trip. We have a new outlook on the people of Cambodia, Thailand, Laos and Vietnam. Please know that without Vit and our guides, this would not have been possible.
